Originally from Pennsylvania, Karen had her first audition at the age of 12 for The Bicentennial Pageant of Franklin County. The fireworks finale mixed with the Neil Diamond soundtrack solidified her passion for the theatre forever. She worked locally for two summers at the Totem Pole Playhouse in Fayetteville, PA, and went on to earn her MA in theatre from Miami University of Ohio. She then found herself in Chicago, one of the best cities for live theatre. Several Chicago highlights include understudying Amy Morton and Rondi Reed in Frank Galati’s production of The Royal Family at the Steppenwolf Theatre, understudying Lady Capulet and the Nurse in Gary Griffin’s production of Romeo and Juliet at Chicago Shakespeare, and training with Jeff Perry in Chekhov Scene Study. Karen then found herself in New York City, training with Atlantic Theater Company and Patsy Rodenburg. She currently resides in New Jersey where she serves on the Board of The Summit Playhouse and partakes of all the amazing theatre New Jersey has to offer.
